NeoVasculoStop consortium meets in Izmir for the final project meeting

The NeoVasculoStop consortium gathered in Izmir, Turkey, on 18–19 August 2026 for the project’s final consortium meeting, hosted at the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG).

The two-day meeting provided an opportunity to review the scientific and technical achievements delivered across the project’s work packages and to reflect on four years of joint research and collaboration. Partners discussed results from the development and testing of the project’s innovative approach to neovascularisation treatment, as well as project management, knowledge management, exploitation and preparations for the final reporting and review.

The programme also looked beyond the formal end of the project. Partners discussed post-project measures, exploitation opportunities and potential next steps towards further development of the NeoVasculoStop results, including the outcome of pitching activities and the possibility of establishing a future spin-off company.

The meeting also included a visit to the IBG laboratories, giving consortium members another opportunity to exchange knowledge and strengthen the collaborations established during the project.

As NeoVasculoStop approaches its official conclusion, the final meeting marked an important milestone while also opening discussions about how the project’s results, expertise and partnerships can continue to create impact beyond its lifetime.
